Mr. Whisk on a Monday

A couple of years ago Jay and I stopped in a restaurant supply store with my parents who were shopping for some lighting materials. As we were checking out I spotted this whisk near the checkout. We were making jokes about it being more of a weapon than a kitchen utensil and Jay decided that I couldn't live without it. So he bought it for me. It was the butt of many jokes but finally I stuck it in a kitchen drawer because I never used it. It was way too bulky for any 'home whisking applications' that I would have needed it for. I mean, seriously, check this sucker out! It weighs half a pound! A regular whisk weighs 1.75 ounces. (Yes, I weighed them. I was bored.)

So, today as I was making cherry curd I found a use for the Whisk on Steroids. My potato masher broke a while back and I got tired of trying to squish those slippery little buggers with a wooden spoon. So I broke out Mr. Mega Whisk and he performed wonderfully! He also came in handy when it was time to whisk the eggs back into the curd, nice!

And for Metamorphosis Monday. . . . new curtains! Exciting, huh. No really, they are. I can't tell you how much happier I am not having to see this mess . . .



I bought a couple of sets of Better Homes and Gardens curtains at Wal*Mart (hey, it's all I have around here!) and another shower curtain rod and 10 minutes later *poof* no kid clutter! They are a bit, um, brilliant white though. I'm thinking I might attempt tea dyeing them. I had to cut quite a bit off to make them the right length and I still have the excess to play with. Maybe by next Monday I will have made it happen!
