Pictures for Grandma!

We had SUCH a marvelous day this last Saturday! It was our town’s First Annual Winter Festival! As we were getting ready to head out I wondered why I hadn’t heard a peep out of Jilly-Bean.

snooze

Oh. That explains it! Awwww, look at her little fingers. And her little curls! They’re growing!

snowmobile ride

We went down to the pond (lake) where they had snowmobile rides. The kids LOVED it, but Jay said he felt every little bump and ridge in the ice, poor guy! What a sport!

sled dog

Down, boy. I think he wanted to eat Amelia. We gave him plenty of space.

skating on the ice

Reese was absolutely fascinated with the ice. We’ve been driving past this pond (lake) since we moved here and when the first ice-house went up he wanted to go out there so very badly! He spent a lot of time slipping and sliding around out on the ice. His little bum must have hurt after falling down so many times, but he didn’t care!

baby warmer

Jilly was cold and still wanting a nap, so Jay stuffed her up his pullover and kept her warm and cozy! She spent the better part of the day like this!

half eaten chili

Doesn’t my half-eaten bowl of chili look appetizing??? Sorry. There was a chili cookoff (which I am TOTALLY entering next year!) but I wasn’t quick enough to get a bowl of the winning chili. This one was called Mild Mannered and was really wonderful! Makes me really wonder about the winning chili, it must have been out of this world!

R's silly face

Now, I might be biased, but these are some pretty cute looking kids. Really.

silly face

They are just adorable. . . . right up until the instant that I click the button on the camera. Then all of the sudden they’ve got some weird look on their face. Grrrrr. So, in retaliation, I’ll post this. . . . . .

she's gonna hate me

Man, she is gonna HATE me when she’s older!

Reese and Lia had a ball making snow bricks.

2

Look at them working together! I’m SO proud!

working together

They were at it for a good 30 minutes.

Oh, you’re wondering why you don’t see more bricks? Well, it could have something to do with this. . . . .

Buahahahahahahahaha! This was only fair, Reese had stomped all the other bricks up until this point!

Reese's footprints

After the festival, we went down to our beach. I love footprints in the sand. These are Reese’s. (he was running)

planting a flower

Amelia found a silk flower that had washed up on the shore. She ‘planted’ it in the sand, she was so proud of it! Cute as a button, isn’t she?

  beachcombing butts

Reese and I walked all the way down the rocky part of the shore. I found some really pretty shells and Reese threw lots of rocks into the ocean. (His favorite beach activity.)

It was just such a lovely, leisurely day. I love living here!

poor snowman!

Before I go, remember our snowman?

snowman remains

This little lump is all that’s left! Awwwwww.

I love all the pictures! It looks like you had fun! Seems to be lots to do around there! I want to run on the beach with Reese!

Okay talk to me about the snow. Is it totally melting? Did they bring it in for this event? I have SO much snow at my house I want to cry! I love that you got your crew out for this event. Mr. Handsome could win the chili contest, the man has a mean chili recipe. You MUST enter next year. Glad you love where you are...that's a great place to be (loving where you are!)

Mom, between the handful of coastal towns, I'm pretty sure there's a festival every weekend during the summer!

Jen it's funny you should ask about the snow! It had mostly melted, the patch the kids were playing in sits in shadow for most of the day. Anywho, last night as I was turning the lights off and heading to bed I stopped at the window and wondered, for a good several minutes, where did the grass on the lawn go? It took me quite a while to figure out that it was under an inch of snow! It was so lovely and warm out
(40 degrees, lol!) that the snow just did. not. compute!
